Alan’s studio, Woodrising in Broadford , Isle of Skye lies between the the Red Cuillin - Beinn na Caillich ( the Old Woman ) , Beinns Dearg Beag and Dearg Mhor ( Little Red and Big Red ) to the south west and the shelter of Broadford Bay to the east. No surprise then that the sun and moon’s rising and setting and all the long day feature strongly in his work. Alan’s photographs evoke the wild and willful landscape of Skye from first to last light.
